"Moments of Reverie" at the Playhouse on the Square
This exhibition, "Moments of Reverie", is a multidisciplinary exploration combining photography and painting. This body of work draws on concepts of existence, mortality, memory and consciousness while exploring a tense relationship between perceived reality and abstraction. This body of work also stems from the human inclination to imitate and interpret aspects of our daily life, in which the manifestations are the distorted remnants of our memory and the fabrication of thoughts. This journey of discovery has embodied a world in which the figures are paused in time, reflecting back into altered states of consciousness.
The opening is this Friday, October 8th from 6-8pm in the Cafe Lobby Gallery at the Playhouse on the Square. Everyone is welcome! This image, titled "Freeze" will be a part of the show::

"Mirroring of the Soul" Series
I have been working on a series for over 4 years now, that I call the "Mirroring of the Soul". These works of art are reflections of our spiritual nature, which transcends human form. This body of work incorporates reflective surfaces such as water, mirrors and oil, colored gels, a projector and the human form. By combining these ingredients, a surreal world is created where the light bounces off of the surfaces and dances on the human body. The world in which they are born is unnatural to the human eye; it is only captured in each frame separately. The images incorporate figures submerged in water and other surfaces reflecting back into an altered state of consciousness, which acts as a vehicle into the sources of poetic vision.
Here is one of my newest images, that of which has been created in a very cramped space, but am trying to build an area for my photographic study to further my vision.
